Review: Don't Judge a Lizard by His Scales by Dan Dugi, Bli Marston Dugi

I have a little two year old nephew so I have been on a kids book hunt.
I have started reading to him much more lately because he now will sit still and let me read to him.
My Nephew really liked the illustrations and wizard lizard. The reason why I wanted to read it to him was because it looked like it was for boys due to the lizards and bugs. My nephew did love the lizard. The only thing I did not like was the part in the book where a gang comes and the wizard lizard stands up to them. I thought the gang was a bit too much for a younger audience. It would have made more sense if they were regular kids picking on Bli the fly and making fun of the wizard lizard for trying to be friends with a fly.

Other than that it was a great read and my nephew liked the characters. I wold recommend this book to all kids who are entering school or pre-school and are starting to make friends. This book has some great morals like not judging people, standing up to bullies, being nice to bullies, and letting your parents meet and approve of your friends. The last lesson I think is an important one for youngsters to understand because it is important to know and approve of who they try to make friends with.
Definitely read this book to your child or have them read it if they are starting to make friends.
