Trial by Charm by Jolene Buchheit
Seventeen year old Julia Wright doesn’t understand her friends’ obsession with boys. She’s never even had a crush, and proudly maintains her composure no matter who is in her presence. In fact, the hotter a guy is to her friends, the more annoying he seems to Julia. When she is blackmailed into being the manager of the men’s swim team, she finds herself face to face with the worst of them all.
Team Captain Vander Thelxinoe is the typical selfassured jock, with a notso-typical ability to change people’s minds at will. It’s a talent he uses often to get what he wantsonly his charms don’t work on Julia. Now he’s anxious to figure out why, and the closer he tries to get, the more desperate she is to stay away–especially when he somehow awakens a side of her she never knew existed.
Their unexpected friendship puts Julia in the middle of a quest she doesn’t quite understand. As her familiar world begins to unravel around her, Julia must partner with the one person who knows how to push her buttons–and, in doing so, discovers the unbelievable truth about who she really is.
Can Julia and Vander survive the trial set before them, or will they succumb to a more terrifying fate?

I do this thing where I read a book and make notes about likes and dislikes. Then I come back to the book and my notes about a week before my review to get a fresh view to see if I still feel the same way or maybe overreacted. Well, last night I picked up my notebook and read through my notes for Trial by Charm and re-read some of my favorite parts. I thought to myself before going to sleep 'Wow I can't wait to til I write my review for this book it was a great read!' then I went to bed........ Only to wake up half an hour later freaking out because my review post was scheduled for the next day!
I would have been sad if I messed up my review day because I loved this book. Reading the synopsis I would have never guessed that I would have been taken on a greek mythological fantasy. I LOVE GREEK MYTHOLOGY! If done right, you can really bring your own world alive within this genre. The author does just that and really created a unique greek mythological world set in modern day society that I loved. The characters were well written and the dialogue was bright and funny. I found the book full of surprises that I feel will keep people reading! I truly enjoyed this book so much I am going to go out and buy a hard copy! This says a lot because I live in a small one-room hovel and all the walls are already covered with shelves that are full of my favorite books and book memorabilia.

Honestly, I recommend to everyone!
