My Review:
I want to start out by telling everyone that these are novella length stories, I know some readers who do not like shorter stories. However I think that since it is a series of novellas people will enjoy these reads. The story is very descriptive and clearly defines the world and the groups that banded together in this savage world. The story line is simple and easy to read. You get introduced to characters but none of them have any real character development. This isn't really to bad cause you will still be intrigued by Boon, the main character, and want more from this character. I liked the read but I wanted more answers. Why steal only fair skinned ginger children? What exactly is the cursed ground because I was not too sure after reading the first novella? Overall if you want a quick intriguing read and you love series then this is the novella series for you.

My Review:
I finished the first novella wanting more from the series and thankfully I had the second story. Unfortunately the second book didn't start out answering questions left from the first book. It started out as a completely new story and the story and characters from the first book were not introduced until a few chapters in. This setup left me even more confused. The only reason why I kept reading was Temper, the main character in this book. She was much more developed and I found her smart and determined to get the truth and curious in a great way.  The story was good and kept me reading and even though this is a different story line from the first book I felt like there was a bigger connection to the stories that might be revealed in later novellas. I liked this installment and believe that if you enjoy well built worlds filled with mystery then you will too!
